Frequently Asked Questions
What is a primary regulator used for?
A primary regulator controls the gas pressure directly from the gas cylinder before the gas enters your dispense system. It provides the main gas supply pressure for your installation.
Should I use a secondary regulator as well?
If you're dispensing multiple products that require different gas pressures, a secondary regulator allows each line to be adjusted individually after the primary regulator.
Can I connect this directly to a keg?
Primary regulators are designed to control the gas supply from the cylinder. In multi-line installations, they are commonly used alongside secondary regulators, allowing each keg to be set to its own serving pressure.
What is the difference between the Type A and Type B regulators?
Both the Type A and Type B wall mounted primary regulators are suitable for the same applications and provide reliable mixed gas pressure control for beer dispense systems.
We use the Type A and Type B names simply to distinguish between two regulator designs within our range. Both are manufactured to a high standard and, for most installations, either regulator will perform equally well. The choice is largely down to personal preference or availability rather than one being better than the other.
If you're unsure which regulator is best for your dispense system, we're always happy to help.
